Insights into Myanmar History
Lecture Series of SEAMEO CHAT

SEAMEO CHAT successfully carried out one of its activities, the lecture series on Insights into Myanmar History. The five-day lecture series took place at the Centre from 8th August to 12th August, 2011. Ten lectures were given, two on each day, and the titles and the presenters of the lectures are:

- Inwa: Four Times Royal City in Myanmar History by Myo Aung, Senior Programme Officer, SEAMEO CHAT
- Thanlyan: Port and Trade, c. 1600-1800 by Dr. Win Myat Aung, Senior Officer (Research & Development), SEAMEO CHAT
- Samgha History in Myanmar (1044-1885) by Professor Dr. Mo Mo Thant, Head of Department, Department of History, Yangon University of Distance Education
- Myanmar History in the Chinese Sources by Professor Dr. Margaret Wong, Head of Department, Department of History, University of Yangon
- Buddha’s Stone Relief of Nagayon Temple at Early Bagan Period by Professor Dr. Kyawt Hmu Aung, Head of Department, Department of Archaeology, University of Dagon
- Traceable Remains of Megalithic Culture in Upper Myanmar by Professor Dr. San Shwe, Head of Department, Department of Archaeology, University of Yangon
- Political Development in Myanmar (1988-2011) by Professor Dr. Chaw Chaw Sein, Head of Department, Department of International Relations, University of Yangon
- The Significance of 2010 Multi-Party General Elections in Myanmar by Professor Dr. Yin Myo Thu, Department of International Relations, University of Yangon
- Hidden Agenda: Japanese Secret Activities in Myanmar (1939-1940) by Dr. Naw Si Blut, Senior Officer (Research & Development), SEAMEO CHAT
- Kyansittha in his Inscriptions by Professor Tun Aung Chain, Director (Retired), SEAMEO CHAT

Academic staff from Departments of History, Archaeology, and International Relations from Universities in Yangon attended the lecture series, and on the fifth day after the lecture, 58 were given the Completion Certificates by SEAMEO CHAT.
